Moto Guzzi MGX-21
That was a damn project! We shot these videos under the summer sun and 30-35 °c. That was extreme. We’re still alive. From the mountains to the city riding the new Moto Guzzi MGX-21. We rode the prototype sent us directly from Los Angeles, Pasadena, where the design studio of Piaggio is based.
The project is splitted in 3 different locations to maximize the versatility of this bike. We have been in the mountains (Ledro Lake), on the highway (A35 Brebemi) and back to the city for a drink (Milan).
I was the camera operator of these videos, focused more on the camera car (DJI Osmo + DJI Ronin + Panasonic GH4). We also used a Sony FS700 for ultra slow motion, a Sony RX100, Sony A7S II and a DJI Inspire 1 of Marco Orbassano.
On the highway we mostly used a small camcorder + DJI Osmo + GoPro 4 Black
In the darkness of the city we decided to use a Sony A7S II + Sony lenses (mostly 35mm). The results are awesome. Shooting at night with this camera is unbelievable, and we didn’t push on ISO neither that much! At night we changed Ronin and we mounted the Sony A7S II on the small Ronin M instead my big one.
Shooting the night video was a real pain. Started at 10PM, we packed up our gear around 6am + I drove home (1h30min). Damn it worths it! I really enjoyed be part of the team for this project.
Enjoy the videos + some of behind of the scenes :)
